At MTMS, our annual St. Patrick’s Day Party and Irish Carnival is arguably our most popular event. Students get to perform, as usual, but they also get to play carnival games, win entire cakes and bottles of pop, and win lots of other fabulous prizes.
In 2013, we took our annual St. Patrick’s Day Party one step further and added an Irish Music Festival to the lineup. Strings and guitar students were invited to participate in the Michelle Tuesday Music School exclusive event, where we taught our students Irish jigs and reels under the tutelage of MTMS instructors Tricia “Fire-Fingers” Fairman and Carolyn Sigler. If turnout is any indication, the event was a phenomenal success! We were jam-packed with audience members and game-players alike, and the Irish Festival students performed an amazing show. We also had a lineup of students performing the gamut on piano, guitar, drums, violin, flute and voice.

The week of March 11 – March 16 was Bring-a-Friend week at Michelle Tuesday Music School, where students get to invite their friend to music lessons and show off their mad music skillz. One of our more popular events, Bring-a-Friend week always results in lots of fun times, awesome photos, and delicious donuts from our neighbors, Dunkin Donuts. Students of piano, voice, violin, guitar, and even our preschool music students brought their buddies to music lessons, and Ms. Karen wowed us again with her amazing photography skills. Michelle Tuesday Music School held its third annual Valentine’s Recitals at Poblano’s Mexican Restaurant in Reynoldsburg on Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10. The audience enjoyed the delicious offerings and colorful setting of Poblano’s while being entertained by the finest young musicians in Columbus. The recital featured performances by students playing drums, piano, guitar, violin, bass, drums, flute, saxophone and cello, as well as plenty of vocalists and a Sunday performance of The Cure’s “Lovesong” by student band Blue Sky.
